I was really drawn to the photos in a recent post featuring Christopher Payne’s Asylum Photos. This morning I just happened to stumble upon a series entitled Library of Dust by David Maisel. This series features the individual copper canisters shown in this photo. Apparently these canisters contain the cremated remains of patients of the Oregon State Insane Asylum and that were never claimed by their families.
